Music Travel Love caps PH tour with 'Delightful Philippines' in packed concert
Music Travel Love wrapped up its three-city Philippine tour with a sold-out show at the New Frontier Theater on June 28, capping off a weekend that felt less like a nostalgia trip and more like proof that some songs simply refuse to age.
The crowd wasn't there to chase the next viral hit. They came to sing—loudly—to classics they already knew by heart.
For those unfamiliar, Music Travel Love is the acoustic project of Canadian twins Bob and Clint Moffatt, formerly of the family pop group "The Moffatts." After years in the music industry, the pair found a new global audience through YouTube, where their scenic acoustic covers and signature close harmonies transformed familiar songs into comfort listening for millions around the world.
The duo performed acoustic renditions of timeless favorites, including "Every Breath You Take," "Perfect," "Have You Ever Seen the Rain," "Heaven," and "How Deep Is Your Love," among many others.
They were joined by guest performers Anthony Uy, Sheridan Brass, Francis Greg, and Bugoy Drilon, each bringing a fresh voice to the well-loved covers. Bugoy, however, stood out by treating the audience to his original songs alongside his covers.
The night's final surprise came with the appearance of their brother, Dave Moffatt, giving fans an unexpected taste of "The Moffatts" once again. Together, they revisited signature hits such as "If Life Is So Short," "Miss You Like Crazy," and "Girl of My Dreams," prompting one of the loudest sing-alongs of the evening.
Music Travel Love closed the concert with heartfelt renditions of "When You Say Nothing at All," "Stand by Me," and "Can't Help Falling in Love" before ending with "Delightful Philippines," an original song dedicated to the country that pays tribute to the landmark cities the duo visited during their tour.
It was a fitting finale: a concert built on timeless melodies, elevated by genuine warmth and the kind of connection with the audience that doesn't need reinvention to feel special. (Ian Ureta)
