Lucio Tan conglomerate units to run on clean energy under new FGen deal
Representatives from the Lucio Tan Group (LTG) visit First Gen’s Palinpinon Geothermal Power Plant in Negros Oriental. Following a rollout that began in October 2025, Philippine Airlines and other LTG affiliates fully transitioned to First Gen’s geothermal power in early 2026.
First Gen Corp. has secured a supply agreement to deliver renewable power to the subsidiaries of billionaire Lucio Tan’s LT Group Inc.
In a statement, First gen said the Lopez-controlled clean energy producer will supply more than 29 megawatts of geothermal power from its Tongonan facility in Leyte.
The deal, finalized in late 2025 with rollouts extending into early 2026, will power LT Group’s core assets in aviation, real estate, manufacturing, and hospitality.
Under the terms, LT Group and affiliate firms—including flag carrier Philippine Airlines Inc., Lufthansa Technik Philippines, Macroasia catering units, Grandspan Development Corp., and Absolut Distillers—will collectively receive over 21 megawatts.
Another eight megawatts will supply six projects under Eton Properties Philippines Inc., including major business process outsourcing hubs in Quezon City and Makati City.
