ZAMBOANGA CITY – A Grade 11 student allegedly stabbed two classmates inside a national high school here on Wednesday, July 1, over bullying and peer pressure.
In an interview with media men, Barangay Cabaluay Chairperson Lester Siason said reports were forwarded to their office from the school at the back of the barangay hall about a stabbing incident involving three students during a confrontation inside the classroom.
When barangay officials arrived, the suspect was placed in one classroom while the two injured students were administered first aid by Bureau of Fire Protection responders.
The victims were brought to a hospital for further treatment.
Initial reports said that the suspect was subjected to constant bullying and peer pressure days before the incident.
The suspect, reportedly a member of the Knights of the Altar, accused the victims of pressuring him to use marijuana.
The suspect allegedly decided to bring a knife to school to use it on the victims once they pressured him again to use the prohibited drug.
Parents and guardians rushed to the school to ensure the safety of their children.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
