An 18-year-old helper was arrested for allegedly stealing automotive parts, accessories, electrical tools, and wires worth P126,700 from his employer in Quezon City on Monday, June 30.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio identified the suspect as “James.”
The 36-year-old victim discovered at around 9 a.m. that several items from his home-based business in Barangay Old Balara were missing.
The victim checked the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, which allegedly showed the suspect taking the items.
He immediately reported the incident to the Batasan Police Station.
Police arrested the suspect at his residence at around 6 p.m. on the same day.
Authorities recovered one box of automotive wiring harnesses from the suspect, while the other stolen items have yet to be recovered.
Investigation showed that the suspect had been working as a helper in the victim’s small business for nearly one year.
The suspect is under police custody and will face a complaint for qualified theft before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
Silvio commended the police for their quick response.
