Tamayo fired 13 of his 22 points for the hot-starting Filipinos who immediately established a double-digit spread, 32-19, in the opening frame and led by as many as 31 points despite Justin Brownlee and Mike Phillips sitting out the contest.
Dwight Ramos also shone with 19 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals while AJ Edu 14 points and five rebounds.
Gilas had its biggest lead in the fourth quarter when it erected a 92-61 advantage.
The big win came just days after Gilas also drubbed the Manawatu Jets, 92-61 to get the much-needed momentum ahead of the pair of road games against New Zealand and Australia.
The Nationals will face the Tall Blacks first on July 3 in Auckland before traveling to Perth where they will face the Boomers two days later.
