Mid-market builder DMCI Homes Inc. is wagering on the country’s booming domestic tourism market by launching a new hospitality arm.
DMCI Holdings Inc. will debut its hospitality brand with the February 2027 opening of the Solmera Beach Park Resort. The project is situated within its ₱6.57-billion, 7.5-hectare Solmera Coast estate in San Juan, Batangas, a coastal enclave that has increasingly drawn weekend travelers and corporate events.
This is DMCI Homes’ first foray into the leisure and hospitality market. The property will be managed by a newly formed subsidiary, DMCI Hospitality and Leisure Inc., which the builder tasked with scaling operations and establishing service benchmarks across its pipeline.
“Our immediate priority is to put the right operating systems and people in place to ensure consistent service delivery, efficient property management, and reliable guest experiences,” DMCI Homes President Alfredo Austria said.
He added that the scale of the Batangas project provides a viable launchpad to build out the firm's hospitality team.
The diversification comes as domestic tourism in the Philippines rebounds, prompting local builders to expand beyond traditional residential and office developments. DMCI Homes is already planning subsequent leisure projects, including Moncello Crest, an eco-agricultural resort condotel under construction in Tuba, Benguet, and a nature park development in Calamba, Laguna.
The Batangas property is designed as an integrated resort catering to both retail tourists and the corporate meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions market. The estate features a pool complex exceeding 4,000 square meters, multiple food-and-beverage outlets, and a wellness spa. Accommodation options span studio units to two-bedroom suites tailored for extended stays.
To capture the corporate and social events market, DMCI is anchoring the resort with a convention center featuring a 2,000-square-meter function hall and a 935-square-meter veranda.
The developer is also constructing a separate multi-purpose facility alongside outdoor lawn venues to accommodate large-scale exhibitions and banquets, betting on the province's rising profile as an eco-tourism and corporate getaway hub.
