BAIC Philippines has signed a dealership agreement with MG Gateway Mantrade Corp., with Gateway Group set to establish three new BAIC locations in the Philippines.
The contract was signed earlier this month at BAIC Philippines’ flagship showroom along North EDSA in Quezon City. Under the partnership, Gateway Group plans to open BAIC dealerships in Manila Bay, Taguig, and Matina, Davao. The additional locations will give the brand a wider presence in Metro Manila while establishing another sales and service point in Mindanao. BAIC Philippines, however, has yet to announce the opening dates and complete facility details for the three planned dealerships.
Gateway Group operates dealerships for several automotive brands in the country. Adding BAIC gives the company another sport utility vehicle brand in its portfolio, including models powered by conventional, hybrid, and electrified powertrains.
“Gateway Group coming on board tells us the demand is real, and we'd rather grow where people are already asking for us than get ahead of ourselves,” said Timothy Sytin, BAIC Philippines Brand Head. “Each new location is one more place a Filipino can get to know BAIC up close, and that's what keeps this moving.”
BAIC Philippines currently sells the B30e Dune hybrid, B40 Pro TrailMaster, B40e Trailmaster rEV, B40 Ragnar diesel SUV, B60 Beaumont diesel hybrid, B60e Beaumont rEV, B80 Wagon, and X55 Verve.
The upcoming Gateway dealerships are expected to carry BAIC’s local model range while providing vehicle servicing, parts support, and other aftersales services.
