CAMP MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas City – The Batangas Police Provincial Office and the Batangas Component City Police Station are investigating an alleged shooting threat at the Batangas City Integrated High School on Monday, June 29.
School officials discovered threatening messages, causing concern among school authorities and parents, posted by an unidentified individual on the official Department of Education-Batangas City Integrated Facebook Page at around 9:54 p.m. on Sunday, June 28.
The school administration immediately suspended classes as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and security of students, teachers, and staff as authorities conducted an investigation.
Police Col. Oliver Ebora, Batangas police director, together with intelligence and investigation officers, proceeded to Batangas City Integrated High School to personally oversee investigation and coordinate security measures with school officials.
Ebora said a Child in Conflict with the Law (CICL) was identified as a person of interest and immediately referred for proper assessment and intervention in coordination with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and in accordance with juvenile justice protocols.
Ebora said that additional police personnel were deployed to maintain security in the school as investigation continues.
He urged people to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities through police hotlines and Unified 911 to ensure a timely police response and prevent similar incidents
