Newborn baby girl abandoned in Sagay City

BACOLOD CITY – An abandoned newborn baby girl was found in a sugarcane field in Barangay General Luna, Sagay City, Negros Occidental on Sunday, June 28.
The Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD) said a 27-year-old woman discovered the infant.
Investigation said the baby was taken to a hospital less than 24 hours after birth, with her placenta still attached and weighed three kilos and 51 centimeters in length.
She is in stable condition and is being closely monitored by a doctor.
Authorities have urged the parents of the child to surface and cooperate with the investigation.
