Maxie Andreison apologizes after 2023 altercation video resurfaces
"Drag Race Philippines" Season 3 winner Maxie Andreison has issued a public apology after a 2023 video showing her physically confronting a fan resurfaced and went viral on social media.
Maxie addressed the controversy during a TikTok Live before uploading a video expressing regret over how she handled the incident.
"Ayoko nang maulit 'yun. Tina-try ko namang magbago. Sana lang three years ago mas na-handle ko 'yung sitwasyon nang mas matalino at mas kalmado. Hindi kasi tama talaga na manakit. Hindi siya tama kahit saang aspeto," Maxie said.
According to Maxie, the misunderstanding between everyone involved had already been resolved long before the video resurfaced. She said they had apologized to one another and moved on from the incident.
The viral clip shows Maxie in a physical altercation with a fan. The footage appears to show one of Maxie's companions slapping the fan before Maxie also slaps and kicks the individual.
Statements circulating online claim the incident allegedly happened after Maxie's performance at a bar, when an intoxicated fan accidentally pulled off her wig while they were posing for a photo.
While Maxie did not elaborate on the circumstances that led to the altercation, she took full responsibility for her actions and apologized to those who were disappointed after watching the video.
"Marami akong natutunan mula sa nangyari at patuloy akong nagsisikap na maging mas mabuting tao."
She stressed that she was not asking for sympathy but wanted to acknowledge her mistake, accept accountability, and ensure that it never happens again.
"Sana, sa susunod na live ko hindi na ako nagso-sorry. Sana last na sorry ko na ito sa inyo," Maxie said.
