BACOLOD CITY – A man allegedly shot and wounded his former girlfriend who was celebrating her birth anniversary with a male friend in an eatery in Barangay Villamonte here late Saturday night, June 27.
Police identified the victim as Queen of Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
Police Lt. Raphael Palacios, deputy chief of Police Station 4, said the suspect Ace who also hails from Kabankalan City tailed the victim from their hometown to the eatery.
The suspect confronted the victim and asked her companion if he was her new boyfriend. Her friend denied and the suspect forced the victim to leave with him.
The victim resisted, irking the suspect who aimed the gun at her friend. However, the gun failed to fire and the suspect shot the victim in the body.
The suspect fled and the victim was taken and recuperating in a hospital.
Recovered from the crime scene were two dud bullets, two slugs, and two cartridge cases.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing.
