Results of 2026 Shari'ah Special Bar Exams set for release 2 pm on July 1 -- SC
The Supreme Court (SC) will release the results of the 2026 Shari’ah Special Bar Examinations (SSBE) at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, after its full court session.
The date and venue of the oath taking of the successful examinees are also expected to be announced on Wednesday.
A total of 796 examinees – 529 female and 267 male -- finished the two-day SSBE which were administered by the SC last May 24 and 27 in four testing centers.
SSBE Chairperson and Associate Justice Henri Jean Paul B. Inting said the examinations were given both in English and Arabic. Forty-five examinees opted to take the tests in Arabic, he said.
Of those who finished the two-day examinations, 81 took the tests at the New Era University (NEU) in Quezon City; 72 at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU); 479 at the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT); and 164 at the Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU). NEU was also the national headquarters of the SSBE.
Last May 24, the subjects tackled by the examinees were Jurisprudence (Fiqh) and Customary Laws (Adat) from 8 a.m. to 12 noon; and Persons, Family Relations, and Property from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Tackled last May 27 were Succession, Wills/Adjudication, and Settlement of Estates in the morning, and Procedure in the Shari’ah Courts in the afternoon.
Questions given during the examinations were based solely on laws, rules and jurisprudence as of Aug. 8, 2025.
