Mayor Isko credits prudent spending for sustaining Manila services
"Every peso saved is a peso that can be spent on public services," Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said, crediting prudent fiscal management for enabling the city government to sustain programs and respond to the needs of Manileños.
Speaking during the Kapihan ng Samahang Plaridel at the Manila Hotel, Domagoso said disciplined spending and responsible management of the city’s finances have helped Manila recover from what he previously described as a “financial ICU.”
According to the mayor, the city’s improving fiscal position has allowed the local government to continue funding essential services while laying the groundwork for more programs that directly benefit residents.
Domagoso emphasized that maintaining sound financial management remains a priority of his administration.
The mayor said prudent budgeting not only strengthens the city’s finances but also gives the local government greater capacity to invest in initiatives that improve the quality of life of its residents.
