The Southern Police District (SPD), together with the Pasay City Police, has finalized security preparations for the White Ribbon March on Sunday, June 28, assuring the public of a peaceful and orderly conduct of the faith-based gathering that advocates accountability and reforms in government.
Pasay City Police chief Col. Joselito De Sesto said personnel will be strategically deployed in key areas to maintain peace and order, ensure public safety, and manage traffic during the march.
He emphasized that all officers have been instructed to exercise maximum tolerance, professionalism, and respect for human rights while safeguarding the constitutional right of Filipinos to peacefully assemble and express their views.
De Sesto added that enhanced police visibility, real-time monitoring, and specialized response teams will be in place to protect participants, motorists, residents, and the general public.
Meanwhile, SPD director Brig. Gen. Glen Oliver Cinco announced that 2,493 police personnel will be deployed across the district’s area of responsibility to secure the event.
The deployment will cover key security operations, including the Senate of the Philippines, anti-criminality patrols, border control points, and observation posts.
Cinco said operations will be carried out in close coordination with local government units and partner agencies to ensure efficient traffic management, emergency response, and public safety services.
Security measures will also include intensified police visibility, real-time monitoring through CCTV systems and drone assets, and the positioning of specialized response teams to promptly address any untoward incidents.
The SPD assured residents that all operational plans are focused on preserving peace, preventing criminal activities, and maintaining a safe environment throughout the activity.
