Sophia Laforteza breaks silence on Manon's future with Katseye: 'The door is always open'

Months after Manon stepped back from Katseye activities, group leader Sophia Laforteza has shared the clearest indication yet of where things stand, emphasizing that the singer's well-being remains the group's top priority.
In an interview with Allure, the Filipina performer addressed the uncertainty surrounding Manon's hiatus and made it clear that neither the members nor fans should pressure her into returning before she is ready.
"For us, this has always been about her well-being," Sophia said, explaining that Manon deserves the time and privacy she needs to focus on herself.
Rather than speculate about what comes next, Sophia said the group is choosing patience.
"We don't want to make any assumptions or set anything in stone," she said. "She really deserves that and the door is always open."
Sophia admitted she understands why fans continue searching for answers.
"We love her and the fans love her. The people love her. They love Katseye," she said. "If I was in their place I would be asking too."
Still, she urged supporters to respond with compassion instead of pressure.
"We wish that you could just keep extending love and support and patience," Sophia said. "All of us deserve that. Anybody does."
Manon has been away from group activities since February after HYBE x Geffen announced she would be taking a hiatus to focus on her health and well-being.
The conversation surrounding her future intensified in April when fans noticed she had removed "Katseye" from her Instagram bio, fueling rumors that she had left the group.
Manon later addressed the speculation herself, assuring fans that she remains in positive communication with HYBE x Geffen.
"HxG and I are having positive conversations and I feel supported. I'm happy and I'm healthy. I'll share more soon. Thank you for always being there for me," she wrote.
