Police in Muntinlupa City investigated an online post alleging that individuals were carrying firearms and butterfly knives near a public high school in Alabang.
The post, uploaded on June 24, spread across community pages and prompted the Cyber Patroller and Tracker Team to monitor the claim.
Officers were dispatched to Pedro E. Diaz High School in Barangay Alabang to verify the report.
At the school, police coordinated with security officer Mar Glenn Banaguas, head guard of Best Security Group.
Banaguas said that since June 23, strict security measures have been enforced, including the use of hand-held metal detectors to inspect all students entering the campus.
Authorities confirmed that no firearms, bladed weapons, or contraband have been confiscated, and there have been no reports of altercations or violent incidents inside or outside the school grounds.
Personnel from the Alabang Police Sub-station continue to conduct regular patrols and maintain visibility during student entry in the morning and dismissal in the afternoon.
“We would like to reassure the public that we take every report seriously and act swiftly to verify information. While we appreciate the community’s vigilance, we also urge everyone to rely on verified updates from official sources to avoid unnecessary alarm or misinformation,” the Muntinlupa police said.
Security in Muntinlupa schools has been tightened following the June 22 mass shooting at San Jose National High School in Tacloban, which left three students dead and several others wounded.
