The city government of Malolos, in partnership with the Bulacan police, distributed handheld metal detectors to public schools on Thursday, June 25, as part of efforts to strengthen campus security.
A total of 120 units were turned over in an initial rollout led by Malolos City Mayor Christian D. Natividad, together with Col. Jay B. Baybayan, acting Bulacan police director, and Lt. Col. Rommel E. Geneblazo, city police chief.
One of the recipient schools was Marcelo H. Del Pilar National High School in Brgy. Bagong Bayan.
Col. Baybayan thanked the city government for the initiative, saying the program will help reinforce safety measures in schools and ensure a secure environment for students and teachers.
He emphasized that the effort is proof of the collaboration of local government, educational institutions, and the police in promoting community safety.
