Maginhawa Street in Quezon City will be transformed into the city’s first Pride Village on Saturday, June 27, featuring vibrant community activities, live performances, and local businesses in celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community.
The stretch from Magiting Street to Mapagkawanggawa Street will become a pedestrian-friendly zone from 9 a.m. to midnight, offering food, art, entertainment, and more for everyone to enjoy.
Organized by Food Community Inc., the Quezon City government, Pride PH, and Globe Telecom, the event will gather more than 50 local merchants and community groups for the day-long celebration.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte said the event shows the city’s commitment to creating safe and welcoming spaces where everyone -- regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression --is respected and accepted.
“Pride is about creating spaces where everyone, regardless of their SOGIE, feels seen, respected, and safe. In Quezon City, we celebrate diversity because it makes our communities stronger,” Belmonte said.
Belmonte added that the event reinforces the city’s goal of promoting a community where members of the LGBTQIA+ community can express themselves freely.
The festival will feature three major programs -- “Good Morning, Maginhawa,” “Walang Siesta sa Maginhawa,” and “Dinner na Winner”-- with activities scheduled throughout the day.
The morning program will include Zumba, free legal consultations from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines–Quezon City Chapter, performances by the QC Symphonic Band, and interactive booths from Globe Telecom and Coca-Cola.
Afternoon performances will feature AUX 8, Earl Generao, Faye Yu, mayfly, Okaykwan, It All Started in May, NEW LORE, Tuesday Trinkets, Shattered January, BAHAGHARI + MALAYA, and The Sanctuary’s Wet ’n Wild Rave.
The celebration will continue at night with the Rampa sa Maginhawa Top 10 runway, a free concert featuring Moon Dream City, Shirebound, The Ridleys, and Fitterkarma, followed by drag performances from Zymba Ding and Bomba Ding.
The event is supported by Coca-Cola, Angat Buhay, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines–Quezon City Chapter, Anytime Fitness Maginhawa, and local businesses along Maginhawa Street.
