TIAONG, Quezon – This town marked the feast day of patron saint John the Baptist on Wednesday, June 24, with a boodle fight in front of the municipal hall dubbed “Barrio Fiesta.”
Led by Mayor Vincent Arjay Mea, people from 31 barangays were served longganisa, pork barbecue, chicken with coconut milk, caldereta, menudo, seafood, and desserts, during the communal feast that capped the Bayan ni Juan Festival.
Mea thanked people for participating.
The festival ended with the traditional “basaan” (throwing water at each other) symbolizing the sacrament of baptism and foam party where participants dance to music on a dance floor covered in several feet of suds or bubbles dispensed from a foam machine.
