The Pasay City government has advised residents and businesses in several areas of Barangay Malibay to prepare for a scheduled power service interruption in the early hours of Friday, June 26, due to line reconstruction works along Clemente Jose Street.
According to an advisory issued by the Manila Electric Company (Meralco), the power interruption will be implemented in phases.
From 12:01 a.m. to 3:00 a.m., electricity service will be interrupted in portions of P. Santos Street from B. Vizcarra Street to Apelo Cruz Street Extension, including E. De Guzman, F. Cruz, I. Santos, L. Taytay, M. Tengco, Marcela Marcelo, R.N. Ascano, S. Deguzman, V. Cruz, and V. Vizcarra Streets. The outage will also affect San Juan Nepomuceno School and Philgifts in Malibay.
Meanwhile, from 12:01 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. and again from 2:30 a.m. to 3:00 a.m., power service will be temporarily interrupted in portions of Clemente Jose Street from near Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) to near E. Cornejo Street, including Estanislao, F. Cruz, M. Patinio, P. Santos, and Tolentino Streets. The Pilar Building in Malibay will also be affected.
The city government urged affected residents, business establishments, and institutions to take the necessary precautions and make advance preparations for the temporary power outage.
Meralco said the scheduled interruption is necessary to facilitate line reconstruction works and improve the reliability and safety of the area's power distribution system.
