Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon expressed gratitude to the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) for its continued support to the city’s early childhood education programs, highlighted by the donation of 50 Samsung tablets and accessories.

Biazon thanked KOICA for deploying volunteers in the city, saying learners and parents enjoyed and gained knowledge through different “activities aimed at strengthening our Early Childhood Education ecosystem.”

“As it has always been said, ‘it takes a village to raise a child.’ And indeed, we are raising these children as a community, with the help of our friends from Korea and with the active participation of their caring parents & Child Development Teachers,” he said.

The donation was formally turned over during the closing ceremony of the Parent-Teacher Partnership Workshop. It included 50 Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 units, 50 Samsung Care+ subscriptions for one year, 50 power adapters, 50 screen protectors, and 50 headphones.

Through KOICA, the South Korean government has deployed Korean volunteers to Muntinlupa to assist in early childhood education.

The fourth batch, composed of 16 volunteers, arrived in April and were assigned to child development centers.

As part of the partnership between the Muntinlupa City Government, KOICA, and the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA), the volunteers set up a Korean-style classroom model to teach parents and learners about nutrition, physical education, home play, and music.

Biazon said he looks forward to welcoming more Korean volunteers in Muntinlupa, emphasizing that their presence has enriched the learning experience of the city’s children.
