A 41-year-old woman was arrested after she allegedly availed herself of a hair treatment at a salon in Tondo, Manila but failed to pay for the service.

The Manila Police District (MPD)-Moriones Tondo Police Station identified the suspect as alias “Jailyn,” a resident of Barangay 117, Tondo, Manila.

Police said the incident happened at around 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, inside a salon at a mall along Dagupan Street.

Initial investigation showed that the suspect was outside the salon asking about the services being offered when the salon manager approached her and explained the available hair treatment services.

The suspect then agreed to undergo the treatment.

However, after the service was completed, salon personnel discovered that the suspect allegedly had no money to pay for it.

The suspect was brought to the mall’s security office and was later turned over to personnel of the Dagupan Outpost of the Moriones Tondo Police Station.

Authorities said the suspect was brought to the Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center for physical examination before being taken to the police station for investigation.

The arrested suspect will face charges for violation of estafa under Article 315 of the Revised Penal Code, police added.
