CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – The Police Regional Office 4-A is deploying police officers to secure schools in the Calabarzon region following recent violence in Cavite and Tacloban City.
Police Brig. Gen. Hansel Marantan, PRO 4-A director, said that they are visiting schools and conducting awareness activities and coordination meetings to strengthen security measures, deter potential threats, and prevent incidents of violence and other related crimes.
He said the presence of police officers in schools reflects the Philippine National Police’s commitment to ensure that educational institutions remain safe, secure, and conducive to learning and provide the public with assurance that law enforcement personnel are readily available to respond to any incident.
Marantan urged the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or incidents occurring not only within schools but also in other public areas.
“While recent incidents may cause concern, we assure our students, parents, and teachers that our personnel remain visible, vigilant, and committed to their safety. Police presence and visibility in schools send a clear message that the security and well-being of our learners remain among our highest priorities,” said Marantan.
