Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez has called on the Department of Education (DepEd) and the police to conduct a thorough investigation into a viral incident involving a male teacher and a student inside a classroom at Parañaque National High School-Main.

Olivarez strongly condemned the incident, describing it as deplorable and unacceptable, particularly within an educational institution entrusted with the safety and welfare of students.

“Such acts have no place in our schools, which should serve as safe spaces where children can learn, grow, and develop in a secure environment,” the mayor said.

He assured the public that the city government stands with the victims and their families in seeking justice and accountability. The mayor also pledged support for efforts to ensure that those responsible are held accountable under the law.

The incident gained widespread attention after a video circulated on social media allegedly showing a male teacher and a student engaged in inappropriate conduct inside a classroom at the school in Barangay San Dionisio.

Public outrage intensified on Monday as hundreds of students walked out of their classrooms and gathered at the school’s main gate to denounce the incident and express concern over the safety of learners on campus.

The protest came as education officials launched an inquiry into the allegations.

The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Parañaque said it immediately initiated an investigation after receiving reports and becoming aware of videos circulating online regarding the alleged incident.

The SDO emphasized that it is treating the allegations with the “utmost seriousness, urgency, and impartiality,” adding that appropriate administrative and legal procedures are being undertaken in accordance with existing laws and DepEd policies.

Education officials also assured students, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders that the rights and welfare of all parties involved will be protected throughout the investigation.
