Bear, the nine-year-old son of the late pop star Liam Payne, has been named sole recipient of his estate.
According to a report from People, he has received the singer's $29 million (₱1.77 billion) estate as based on legal documents.
While some of the money can be used now, the majority of it will be held in a trust until Bear turns 18 years old, according to the filing.
The reports also showed that back in May, Liam's former partner, Cheryl Cole, was appointed as administrator of the estate alongside attorney Richard Mark Bray as per court documents.
BBC reported that Cheryl, 42, and Richard will oversee the money, but they cannot distribute it yet. The report also said that in the U.K., if a person dies without a will and has no spouse or civil partner, their children usually inherit the estate.
The former couple welcomed their son on March 22, 2017. Payne and Cheryl announced their son's birth a few days after his arrival with a Polaroid shot of the singer cradling his son.
Despite going their separate ways the following year, Liam and Cheryl remained good friends and continued to co-parent their son.
During a 2022 guest appearance on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, Liam reflected on their bond and praised Cheryl.
"I couldn't ask someone better. The relationship we have with each other now as friends has only grown more."
The One Direction alum died on Oct. 16 at age 31 after falling from a hotel balcony.
Liam sustained "extremely serious injuries" after falling from the third floor of Casa Sur Hotel, according to the Buenos Aires police. His death was confirmed by medics at the scene.
