Cavite PNP, DepEd, reinforce security to prevent school violence
CAVITE – The Cavite Police Provincial Office (Cavite PPO) and the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division Office of Cavite have coordinated to strengthen security mechanisms in learning institutions following incidents of school violence.
On Tuesday, June 23, Cavite PPO director Col. Ariel R. Red met with Schools Division Superintendent Rosemarie D. Torres and Assistant. Barangay public safety officers, meanwhile, will be tapped as force multipliers to enhance the monitoring of school perimeters.
The need for additional safety infrastructure was also discussed, such as the possible installation of metal detectors in selected schools.
The DepEd Schools Division Office of Cavite has also met with the chiefs of police of various Cavite local government units to discuss safe and secure learning environments.
