Taguig police served warrants of arrest on a woman facing multiple counts of illegal recruitment and estafa in Davao City.
The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as alias Zahra, 33, a native of South Cotabato and currently residing in Barangay Lower Bicutan, Taguig.
She is classified as a most wanted person for a string of criminal cases filed in different courts in Davao City.
The operation took place inside the custodial facility of the Taguig Police Station in Barangay Tuktukan, where she is detained for another case.
One warrant, with no bail recommended, is for large-scale and syndicated illegal recruitment issued by Judge Nanette Leman of the Davao City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 11.
Another warrant, also with no bail recommended, is for illegal recruitment issued by Presiding Judge Mario Duaves of the Davao City RTC Branch 15.
The third warrant, with a recommended bail of P45,000, is for six counts of estafa issued by Judge Marisue Llanes of the Davao City Metropolitan Trial Court in Cities Branch 2.
SPD director Brig. Gen. Glenn Oliver Cinco said, “Illegal recruitment preys on the hopes and aspirations of our fellow Filipinos seeking better opportunities. We encourage the public to remain vigilant and verify employment opportunities through legitimate channels.”
