The Quezon City government has extended P4.5 million in financial aid and deployed humanitarian assistance to several areas in Mindanao affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake on June 8, 2026, to support relief and recovery operations.
General Santos City received P1.5 million, while Jose Abad Santos, Malapatan, and Sarangani each received P1 million as part of the city’s humanitarian mission.
The city also sent social workers, doctors, rescue personnel, and trained responders to assist in ongoing relief and response operations in the affected areas.
City officials said coordination with local and provincial governments in Mindanao continues to ensure the sustained delivery of assistance to affected communities.
Teams on the ground are also providing mental health and psychosocial support services to help survivors cope with trauma brought by the earthquake.
