No threats have been monitored by the Senate Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms (OSAA) related to the scheduled July 6 impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte, even as heightened security measures remain in place in the chamber.

Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Alfred Sotto Corpus made the statement on Monday, June 22, when asked whether authorities had received any threats ahead of the impeachment proceedings.
"None," Corpus said.
Despite the absence of any specific threat targeting the impeachment trial, Corpus said the Senate will continue to maintain a heightened security posture based on the prevailing security environment in the National Capital Region (NCR).
"Kasi yung (It's because the) security environment, not necessarily dito sa (here in the) Senate, the whole National Capital Region, ganoon pa yung threat level (the threat level remains the same). So heightened security pa rin tayo (So we're still in heightened security)," he said.
Corpus said the Senate's heightened security status will remain until authorities determine that the situation has normalized following consultations with law enforcement agencies and security forces.
Asked whether security would be further tightened once the impeachment trial begins, Corpus said current measures would largely remain in place, although the visibility of security personnel may be increased.
"Siguro, we will just add yung visibility ng ating mga law enforcers, ng OSAA, ng Philippine National Police, at ng allied forces (Perhaps we will just add visibility of law enforcers such as OSAA, PNP, and allied forces)," he said.
Corpus also noted that intelligence and threat assessments remain under continuous review, saying authorities are still validating information received from various law enforcement agencies.
