Bus conductor with gun cuffed after police chase in Parañaque

A 26-year-old bus conductor was arrested early Sunday morning, June 21, in Parañaque City after allegedly attempting to evade police while carrying a firearm.
Police Col. Nicolas Pinon, Parañaque City Police chief, identified the suspect as “Rick,” who was apprehended at around 1:30 a.m. on Sunrise Street in Barangay Tambo.
According to authorities, personnel from the Tambo Police Substation were conducting routine patrol operations along MIA Road when a concerned citizen reported seeing a man with a firearm bulging from his waistline.
Responding officers immediately proceeded to the area and spotted the suspect.
Upon noticing the policemen, Rick allegedly fled, prompting a brief chase that ended in his arrest.
Recovered from him was an unlicensed .38-caliber revolver loaded with two rounds of ammunition.
Rick was brought to the Parañaque City Police Investigation and Detection Management Section (IDMS) for investigation and documentation.
He faces charges for violation of Republic Act No. 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code (Resistance and Disobedience to a Person in Authority).
