Muntinlupa marks Father's Day with 'Takbo, Tatay, Takbo' fun run
The Muntinlupa City government celebrated Father’s Day with a fun run that drew 550 participants on June 20.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon led the “Takbo, Tatay, Takbo 2026,” which also paid tribute to the late Muntinlupa councilor Allan Camilon who died in a plane crash in Coron, Palawan, on April 2.
Biazon said the event was a reminder on the roles of fathers in families and communities.
“More than a fun run, this is also a reminder of two things: awareness sa mahalagang papel ng mga ama sa ating families at community. At advocacy para sa kalusugan, dahil mas magagampanan natin ang ating mga responsibilidad bilang mga ama kung tayo mismo ay malusog at inaalagaan ang ating sarili (More than a fun run, this is also a reminder of two things: awareness of the important role of fathers in our families and communities. And advocacy for health, because we can better fulfill our responsibilities as fathers if we ourselves are healthy and take care of ourselves),” he said.
The event had 5-km and 10-km run courses, which started and finished at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex in Barangay Tunasan.
Ten winners in the 10-km course received P3,000 each while another 10 in the 5-km course got P2,000 each.
