On Father's Day, President Marcos received an "order" from his family, instructing him to rest, not hold stressful meetings, and enjoy a sweet treat.
First Lady Liza Marcos and their sons, Sandro, Simon, and Vincent, gave the President a unique Father's Day greeting by issuing an executive order-like message.
Under the "EO," which they dubbed the Official Presidential Father's Day Executive Order, Marcos was told to follow three rules.
First, he must rest.
"Whereas, the President tirelessly attends to the affairs of the nation while also fulfilling the responsibilities of fatherhood; therefore, a period of well-deserved rest shall be observed on Father's Day," his wife and sons said in the "order."
Second, he must not hold non-essential and stressful meetings.
"Father's Day is a special occasion dedicated to family, gratitude, and quality time with loved ones; therefore, all non-essential meetings and stressful discussions shall be deferred for the day," the "EO" said.
Third, dessert is mandatory for the President.
"Every celebration worthy of the Office of the President deserves a sweet ending; therefore, the enjoyment of dessert on Father's Day shall be considered both appropriate and encouraged," they said.
The First Lady posted the executive order-like greeting on her Facebook page on Sunday, June 21.
In greeting the President, the First Lady thanked him for his strength, patience, his "terrible jokes," and his big heart.
"Happy Father’s Day! Our children may call you pops, the nation may call you Mr. President, but I'm the lucky one who gets to call you mine," the First Lady said.
"Life is sweeter, funnier, and far more meaningful because I get to walk through it with you," she added.
Upon receiving the framed executive order (EO), the President said it should also apply to all fathers.
“This is my Father’s Day gift from my family. I proclaim it applicable to all busy dads out there! Happy Father’s Day,” Marcos said as he shared a photo of the framed document on his personal Facebook page.
