The QCPD, led by Director Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio and joined by Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, formally unveiled the facility as a tribute to Baggay’s courage, sacrifice, and service following his death on June 30, 2025.
Authorities said the lounge will serve as a space to preserve the memory of the slain officer and inspire continued dedication among police personnel.
The ceremony included a ribbon-cutting led by the officer’s parents, the unveiling of a commemorative marker, and the blessing of the facility, along with an audio-visual presentation on Baggay’s life and heroism.
Hector Baggay, father of the slain officer, expressed gratitude to the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Quezon City government for their assistance to their family.
He also appealed to the National Police Commission (Napolcom) to review pension support guidelines for families of police personnel killed in operations, particularly in cases where the officer was the sole provider.
Silvio said honoring fallen personnel reinforces the values of duty and service within the police organization, noting that the lounge stands as a lasting reminder of sacrifice in law enforcement.
