A 42-year-old suspected drug peddler was arrested after police seized more than P241,000 worth of shabu during the implementation of a search warrant in Las Piñas City on June 19.
Las Piñas City Police chief Col. Ricky Neron identified the suspect only as "Glen," who was apprehended inside his residence in TS Cruz Subdivision, Barangay Almanza Dos.
Neron said operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), served a search warrant issued by Judge Pia Cristina B. Bersamin-Embuscado of the Las Piñas City Regional Trial Court Branch 198.
During the operation, authorities recovered seven plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing about 35.45 grams.
The illegal drugs were reportedly concealed inside a black coin purse.
Police said the confiscation of the drugs and the arrest of the suspect dealt another blow to the proliferation of narcotics in the city.
The suspect was taken to the Las Piñas City Police custodial facility and is facing charges for violation of Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
