Angelica Panganiban-starrer 'The Silent Noise' triumphs in Korea, wins top Asian content award

Filipino storytelling scored a major international victory after the ABS-CBN drama series “The Silent Noise” was named Best Asian Content at the 2026 Global OTT Awards, beating entries from across Asia during ceremonies held on June 20 at the Busan Cinema Center.

The win marked a significant achievement for the Philippine entertainment industry as “The Silent Noise” emerged on top of a highly competitive field that included productions from Thailand, Taiwan, Japan and China.

Streamed on Prime Video, “The Silent Noise” stars Angelica Panganiban, Zanjoe Marudo, KD Omalin, Mylene Dizon, Zaijian Jaranilla and Mutya Orquia.

“The Silent Noise” bested five other nominees in the Best Asian Content category: “The Believers 2,” “City Founding Pioneer,” “Hirayasumi,” “Pursuit of Jade,” and “Shine on Me.”

Adding to the Philippine representation at the event, Angelica Panganiban earned a nomination for Best Lead Actor (Female) for her performance in the series. The award ultimately went to South Korean actress Shin Hae-sun for “The Art of Sarah.”

Among the night's biggest winners was Korean drama “The Price of Confession,” which captured Best OTT Original, while “You and Everything Else” won Best Creative.

Taiwanese actor Tseng Jing-Hua was named Best Lead Actor (Male) for “Had I Not Seen The Sun,” while Shin Hae-sun took home Best Lead Actor (Female).

The awards ceremony was part of the Korea International Streaming Festival (KISF), one of Asia’s leading events recognizing excellence in streaming and digital entertainment.
