Repeat offender arrested in QC aircon theft

A 37-yer-old man with multiple prior drug cases was arrested by Quezon City Police District (QCPD) operatives after allegedly stealing an air-conditioning unit and several personal valuables in Quezon City on Wednesday, June 17.
The suspect, identified as alias “Patrick,” a resident of Barangay Bungad, was apprehended at around 10:00 p.m. in Barangay Paltok by members of Masambong Police Station (PS 2) in a follow-up operation.
The incident was reported at around 4:30 p.m. after the victim discovered that an air-conditioning unit installed at their accommodation facility was missing. Upon inspection, the premises were found in disarray, with the terrace door forcibly damaged.
CCTV footage showed the suspect entering the property at around 3:15 a.m. and later leaving with stolen items.
Further review of the footage led to the identification of the tricycle driver who transported the stolen goods.
The driver was later located and interviewed, providing information that helped police identify the suspect.
Recovered from the suspect’s residence was one TCL window-type inverter air-conditioning unit worth P30,000.
However, other items remained missing, including P1,500 cash, two sling bags, 13 pairs of slippers, a storage bag with groceries, a Hanabishi desk fan, a mini ceiling fan, a Bluetooth speaker, and three wristwatches.
Police verification revealed that the suspect had prior cases for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 in March 2018, October 2021, and February 2024.
The suspect will face robbery charges before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
