Team Philippines capped its perfect run with a masterful 10-0 victory over Hong Kong to sweep the ASPAC and Middle East Regional Tournament and earn its ticket to the 2026 Senior League Baseball World Series in South Carolina, USA.
The humble Tanauan City, Batangas-based squad completed its mastery in the regional showpiece, which was held in Jakarta, Indonesia, after beating the likes of Maina, Guam (5-2), Hong Kong (16-4), Indonesia (16-0), and India (17-0) in the preliminaries.
They ultimately bested the Hong Kong bets again to reign supreme in the said competition.
“Behind a dominant all-around performance, the boys from Tanauan City Charter completed an unbeaten campaign and punched their ticket to the 2026 Senior League Baseball World Series,” the Little League Philippines wrote on its social media post. “Congratulations, AsPac Champions! The journey continues.”
Apart from the sweep sweet on Indonesian soil, Team Philippines secured its rightful spot in the World Series set in Easley, South Carolina, USA slated Aug. 1 to 8.
There, the Philippines, ruler of Asia-Pacific, will join international teams from regions of Australia, Canada, Caribbean, Europe-Africa, and Latin America, while United State squads are composed of Central, East, South Carolina D1, Southeast, Southwest, and West regions.
They will duke it out in the International Championship game where the victor proceeds to the World Series championship game against the winner of the US title match.
