The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) has filed criminal charges before the Office of the Ombudsman against Security Screening Officers (SSOs) accused of stealing from a foreign passenger while on duty.
OTS Administrator Undersecretary Gilberto DC Cruz and Deputy Administrator Carlo Bala led the filing of the case, showing the agency’s firm stand against misconduct.
Cruz reminded all OTS staff that they are fully accountable in public service. He stressed that government workers must act with honesty and ensure passengers feel safe and respected in Philippine airports.
He warned that anyone caught committing crimes while on duty will face both administrative and criminal punishment.
OTS said the action highlights its commitment to transparency and public trust, reinforcing its mission to keep the country’s airports safe for local and foreign travelers.
