Mixed reactions online follow Bianca Manalo's congratulatory post for ex-BF Win Gatchalian

A congratulatory message from Bianca Manalo to her former partner, Sen. Win Gatchalian, after his election as Senate President drew mixed reactions from netizens, with online discussions focusing more on interpreting the post than the political development itself.

In her Instagram Stories, Manalo expressed support for Gatchalian’s new role, writing: “Will forever be proud of you!”

She added, “Well deserved! It’s about time!” and concluded with, “The country needs you!”

Gatchalian reshared the post on his Instagram Stories without any caption.

The exchange quickly circulated on social media, where users reacted in different ways.

Some praised Manalo’s message as a sign of civility and respect between former partners. Others questioned the public nature of the post and speculated about her reason for doing so.

Not a few even assumed that she is trying to gain Gatchalian's acceptance in an effort to rekindle their romance.

Manalo and Gatchalian have been linked since 2018, with breakup rumors surfacing in 2025, although neither has publicly confirmed the split.

Gatchalian previously described his love life as “non-existent.”

While Manalo has not spoken about the matter publicly, she has been described by Sparkle GMA Artist Center as “single and not in any relationship.”

Gatchalian assumed the Senate presidency during a special session, following a leadership shift in the chamber after securing the required votes for the post.
