A foreign family in Las Piñas City has praised local police for their swift, compassionate response that ensured the safety of their young daughter during a recent incident.
Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Glenn Oliver Cinco said the district received a letter of gratitude on June 15 from Mr. Ammar, who commended the personnel of the Talon Dos Police Sub-Station under Maj. Dino Ramos and the leadership of Col. Ricky Neron for their outstanding service.
Cinco said the family’s daughter, who was home alone, was approached by a motorcycle rider claiming he had been sent to fetch her. Alarmed, the child contacted her parents, who immediately sought police assistance.
Responding officers quickly arrived, located the rider, and conducted a thorough verification.
Their investigation revealed that the rider had simply been given the wrong address and had no malicious intent.
Even after confirming it was a misunderstanding, the officers accompanied the rider to his intended destination to validate his explanation and ensure everyone’s safety before closing the case.
In his letter, Mr. Ammar expressed deep appreciation:
“We felt protected, respected, and reassured by the professionalism and dedication shown by your officers. Their prompt action demonstrated the true meaning of public service and reinforced our confidence in the Philippine National Police.”
He stressed that while law enforcement often draws attention for negative incidents, officers who quietly uphold integrity and compassion also deserve recognition.
Cinco described the letter as a meaningful testament to the trust fostered through responsive, community-oriented policing.
“The trust of the community is earned through our actions,” he said. “I commend our personnel for demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and commitment to public safety. Let this recognition inspire us to continue providing service that makes every person feel safe, protected, and valued.”
The SPD director added that the incident underscores how vigilance, compassion, and prompt police action can strengthen public trust and ensure community safety.
