Residents of a mid-rise building in Santa Cruz, Manila, were safely evacuated after a fire broke out on Friday morning, June 19. Firefighters were also seen attempting to revive a dog that had been trapped inside.
Smoke was first reported at around 8:30 a.m. at the Golden Valley Building at the corner of Tomas Mapua and Recto Avenue.
The blaze struck the residential structure, with occupants initially reported trapped.
During the operation, a dog that had been reportedly left inside the structure was retrieved by responders.
The fire was declared out at 9:22 a.m., contained in less than an hour.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
