The Eastern Police District (EPD) said the suspects entered an unlocked residence on Boni Avenue and entered the victims’ room.
Armed with a firearm and a bladed weapon, they stole a Lenovo laptop, two iPhones, bank cards, and clothing before fleeing.
The victims immediately reported the incident, enabling police to trace the suspects using a tracking application on one of the stolen phones.
Surveillance and coordination with hotel management confirmed the suspects had checked in at the Pasay hotel.
EPD personnel established a perimeter and waited until the suspects checked out at around 2:30 p.m. They were then arrested.
The suspects were identified as “Wheylhonne” and “Arnold.”
Recovered items included the victims’ stolen belongings, a fan knife (balisong), and a white-and-blue Honda Click motorcycle allegedly used in the crime.
The suspects are now detained at the Mandaluyong City Police Station, with the case set for inquest at the City Prosecutor’s Office.
“This operation highlights the effectiveness of our current policing strategies. By integrating advanced investigative techniques with the EPD Shield Program’s proactive mandate, we ensure swift accountability for those who threaten community safety,” said EPD chief Brig. Gen. Melecio M. Buslig Jr.
