Absent from the special session on Wednesday, this is Cayetano's first Facebook live as minority leader, and this is also the first time he has addressed those who are criticizing him for going live on Facebook most of the time.
He specifically called out the Tulfo brothers, Senator Raffy and Erwin.
"Ba't kayo galit na galit pag nagfe-Facebook ako? Eh ang hilig nyo rin mag-Facebook (Why are you angry that I'm on Facebook? You also frequently use Facebook)," he said.
Cayetano was known for going live on Facebook amid his bloc's two-day absence from plenary sessions when he was still the Senate leader. The Tulfo brothers often criticized him for reporting to Facebook instead of attending sessions in the Senate.
He stated that more people watch him than Senators Erwin and Raffy because he speaks about the truth.
"Mas maraming nanonood sa iyo, Raffy at Erwin Tulfo. Eh problema, nabuko kayo na may tinatago kayo. Kung hindi lang sa sarili, para pati din sa Malacañang (More people are watching you, Raffy and Erwin Tulfo. But the problem is, you’ve been exposed as hiding something—if not for yourselves, also for Malacañang)," he added. He also said that the Tulfo brothers, along with Senator Panfilo Lacson, are just taking turns to spread misinformation against him.
Cayetano's Facebook live also comes after Lacson revealed that at least P700 million in taxpayers' money went to waste during the 28 days that Cayetano "led" the Upper Chamber. Cayetano did not deny that P700 million was "wasted" during his term.
He only said: "Whoever was SP noon, ganun din ang gastos (Whoever was SP that time, the spending would be the same)."
