VICTORIA, Tarlac – The bodies of two individuals were found inside a parked vehicle in a gasoline station on the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) in Barangay San Francisco, Victoria, Tarlac on Wednesday night, June 17.
Police Col. Harry Lorenzo, Tarlac Provincial Police Office chief, said Thursday, June 18, that that the families of the victims have identified the bodies.
“Opisyal na kinukumpirma ng aming himpilan na positibo nang nakilala ng mga kaanak ang dalawang indibidwal na natagpuang walang buhay sa loob ng isang sasakyan sa TPLEX Southbound, Brgy. San Francisco, Victoria, Tarlac noong Hunyo 17, 2026,” Lorenzo said in a statement.

Lorenzo said the identities of the victims will help the case move forward.
Police said the families of the victims have appealed for privacy as they mourn and navigate this difficult time.
“Ang pagkakakilanlan ng mga biktima ay mahalagang bahagi ng patuloy na imbestigasyon at case documentation upang matukoy ang lahat ng kaugnay na pangyayari sa insidente. Kaugnay nito, mariing hinihiling ng mga pamilya na igalang ang kanilang desisyong panatilihing pribado ang usaping ito at huwag nang isapubliko o palawakin pa ang mga detalye ng insidente,” the Tarlac PPO said.
Police reminded people to be responsible in sharing information and avoid spreading unverified details, speculation, or misleading claims while investigation is ongoing.
“Nais nilang magkaroon ng sapat na panahon, katahimikan, at pribadong espasyo upang makapagluksa at makaharap sa mabigat na pagsubok na kanilang dinaranas. Dahil dito, hinihikayat ang publiko na umiwas sa pagpapakalat ng mga hindi beripikadong impormasyon, haka-haka, at mga komentaryong maaaring magdulot ng dagdag na sakit at pasanin sa mga naiwang mahal sa buhay.”
Reports said gasoline station employees checked the vehicle after it was parked for some time and discovered the bodies of the victims. Lawmen secured and towed the vehicle.
The TPPO said Thursday, June 18, that the case remains under thorough investigation with the assistance of the Tarlac Forensic Unit.
TPPO assured that updates will be released once results of the forensic examination and investigation are finalized.
