Woman killed in lightning strike

ALCALA, Pangasinan – A 27-year-old woman was killed by a lightning strike during a thunderstorm in Barangay Laoac here on Monday afternoon, June 15.
The Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPO) said the victim and her minor daughter were in an open area when heavy rain and thunderstorm struck the area. Moments later, she was hit by lightning.
Police and Municipal Health Officer Dr. Shirante Parayno responded and the victim was declared dead.
Authorities reminded people to stay indoors during a thunderstorm for their safety. Further investigation is ongoing.
