Ramos leads Filipino charge, stays within two strokes of clubhouse leaders in BingoPlus Philippine ADT Open

TARLAC CITY -- Marcus Lim, Naoki Sekito and Jaeil Kim shared the clubhouse lead, while Sean Ramos spearheaded the Filipino charge by staying within two strokes of the pace at the start of the 2026 BingoPlus Philippine ADT Open at the Luisita Golf and Country Club here on Wednesday, June 17.
The foreign troika fired identical six-under-par 66s to lead the morning flights and make their respective title campaigns felt in the 72-hole, $100,000 tournament.
Lim, a 24-year-old Malaysian standout who turned professional just two years ago, birdied his first three holes and fired five more to offset bogeys on Nos. 2 and 6, while Sekito of Japan also started hot by carding eight birdies against two bogeys.
Kim of South Korea, for his part, had seven birdies against a lone bogey on the par-3 17th hole.
“I was putting pretty solid today. I tried to stay calm after making two bogeys on par-3s, which are big mistakes because I made two, three putts, but I’m just lucky I made two more birdies on the last two holes,” said Lim.
Ramos, tipped as one of the Filipinos to watch in the event, lived up to expectations with a four-under 68 highlighted by a stunning bunker-shot eagle on the par-3 12th hole. He added three birdies and carded just one bogey on the eighth to open his bid on a high note.
“I started cold and then I was hitting okay to mediocre shots. I was just two-putting my way down and then I just started to get hot after I made bogey on the eighth,” said Ramos.
United States’ Brent Ito and Hong Kong’s Hoho Yue were one stroke behind the clubhouse leaders with 67, while Singapore’s Nicklaus Chiam, the current ADT Order of Merit leader, tied with Ramos with a similar 68.
Yue credited his bogey-free round to a stress-free approach to his game, hitting all 18 greens in regulation and rolling in five birdies to move into early contention.
“Just be happy and enjoy the golf course,” Yue said.
Half of the 123-player field are still out on the course that include Angelo Que and Keanu Jahns.
