6 dead in pickup truck-dump truck collision

LABRADOR, Pangasinan — Six individuals were killed and 13 persons were injured in a collision between a mini-dump truck and a pickup truck in Barangay Bolo here on Tuesday night, June 16.
Initial investigation said the driver of the mini-dump truck with 25 employees on board lost control of the vehicle due to a malfunctioning brake.
The mini-dump truck sideswiped the left passenger side of the pick-up truck with 12 passengers that skidded towards the road shoulder. The mini-dump truck continued to move forward and plunged into a ravine.
Six passengers of the mini-dump truck were killed and 13 persons, including the driver, were injured, police said.
One passenger of the pick-up truck was injured. The driver of the pick-up truck and his other passengers were unharmed but were taken to a medical facility for examination.
Both vehicles remain in the area pending retrieval operations and further investigation.
