Report unfinished gov't infrastructure projects – Dizon

DAGUPAN CITY – Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon encouraged the public to report unfinished infrastructure projects.
"The participation of our fellow countrymen is important because if that doesn't come out, I won't be able to see it, we won't be able to do it quickly. There are thousands of projects in the whole Philippines, and we cannot monitor all so we need participation so we could address it immediately," he said during his inspection visit in Barangay Mayombo here on Tuesday.
A netizen uploaded a video of the flooding on the unfinished Arzadon Road project, which was intended for flood mitigation, prompting the DPWH to continue the project.
"This was a project that started in 2024, and it should have been completed this February, but it wasn't. Then Joshua's (De Vera) post went viral. So, when I saw it, as usual, I got angry again, that there's something like this again," he said.
Dizon said vowed that the project would be fully completed within June.
Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez thanked President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and the national government for the various projects in the city and said more infrastructure projects are underway.
The improvement of the Arzadon Road is under the Sustainable Infrastructure Projects Alleviating Gaps.
It was started in June 24, 2024 and should have been completed on Nov. 28, 2024 with a P25-million fund allocation from the General Appropriations Act of 2024.
The project aims to address flooding, one of the major challenges affecting the residents, economy, and overall development of Dagupan City. (PNA)
