SINILOAN, Laguna — Communities in Eastern Laguna now have greater access to lifesaving blood and humanitarian services with the opening of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Laguna Chapter–Siniloan Branch and Blood Collecting Unit/Blood Station (BCU/BS) on June 15, 2026.

As the fourth PRC branch in Laguna, the facility is strategically located to serve eight municipalities in Eastern Laguna while extending vital services to neighboring communities in Rizal and Quezon.

It will provide accessible blood collection, storage, and distribution services, helping ensure that patients and hospitals have timely access to safe blood when needed.

More than a blood facility, the Siniloan Branch serves as a humanitarian hub that brings the full range of Red Cross services closer to communities—including blood services, emergency response, disaster preparedness and response, health and welfare programs, and volunteer development—ensuring that help is available when and where it is needed most.

PRC Chairman and CEO Richard J. Gordon said the new branch forms part of his long-standing vision to expand the Philippine Red Cross humanitarian network and make lifesaving services more accessible to communities.

“A building is hollow if it does not serve people. This branch must be a center of action, compassion, and volunteerism. We are not here to be spectators—we are here to save lives, alleviate human suffering, and serve communities when they need us most,” Gordon said.

Laguna Governor Marisol “Sol” C. Aragones welcomed the opening of the facility, expressing her gratitude to Gordon for his continued support to the Philippine Red Cross and the province of Laguna, “Isa sa mga pangunahing pangangailangan ng tao ang dugo dahil dinudugtungan nito ang buhay ng ating mga kababayan—at ngayon ay malapit na ang serbisyong ito sa amin. Maraming salamat kay Ninong Senator Richard J. Gordon sa kanyang walang sawang pagmamahal at suporta sa Philippine Red Cross at sa lalawigan ng Laguna."

The establishment of the branch fulfills the vision of the late Mayor Rainier Leopando, who first championed the project. The land for the facility was donated by the Municipal Government of Siniloan under his leadership, while the project was carried forward and completed during the administration of Mayor Patrick Ellis Go.

The building was also a priority project of then Fourth District Representative Maria Jamina Katherine Agarao-Oloroso.

Mayor Go encouraged residents to support the branch by participating in blood donation drives and other Philippine Red Cross programs, emphasizing that community involvement is vital to sustaining lifesaving services in the area.

The project was realized under the leadership of Jaime B. Ching, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the PRC Laguna Chapter, and EnP. Frank Gray M. Sorromero, Chapter Administrator, helping bring lifesaving blood and humanitarian services closer to the people of Eastern Laguna and neighboring communities.
