Las Piñas City has expanded community healthcare with the opening of the newly rehabilitated and upgraded Barangay Ilaya Health Center, a modern two-story facility serving more than 7,400 residents.
Mayor April Aguilar said the Barangay Ilaya Health Center, which previously operated as a one-story facility within the barangay hall, has been transformed into a modern two-story building designed to meet the growing healthcare needs of the community.
According to Aguilar, the upgraded facility now features a laboratory room, isolation room, sputum collection area, records room, waste holding area, receiving and waiting areas, examination room, physician's room, dental room, conference room, storage room, and other essential facilities aimed at delivering more efficient and comprehensive healthcare services.
She said the improved infrastructure will provide residents with better access to primary healthcare services, including medical consultations, maternal and child care, immunization programs, dental services, laboratory procedures, health education, and other preventive and curative health interventions.
The mayor noted that the project forms part of the local government's continuing efforts to strengthen community-based healthcare services and ensure that residents have access to safe, adequate, and modern medical facilities.
Aguilar added that the upgraded health center is expected to serve as a vital hub for the implementation of various public health programs, including disease prevention initiatives, health monitoring activities, and emergency response operations within the barangay.
She added that the rehabilitation and upgrading of the Barangay Ilaya Health Center underscore the city government's commitment to making quality healthcare services more accessible to residents and enhancing the overall well-being of the community.
The opening of the new facility marks another milestone in the city's efforts to promote public health and build a healthier, safer, and more resilient community in Barangay Ilaya.
